Social media is neither a new terminology, nor is it a new ideology. The concept of social media can be traced back to the 1980’s with the introduction of the Usenet system that made it possible for Internet users to begin communicating via an environment similar to, what is now known as, online bulletin boards. The Usenet systems were maintained on servers that were operated by internet service providers, educational institutions, and various employers.
